We’re thrilled to offer Cold Capping, a solution to help preserve your hair during chemotherapy.
Cold caps, also known as scalp cooling, are specialized devices designed to be worn on the head during chemotherapy to help reduce hair loss. These caps are filled with a cold substance, such as dry ice or a cooling gel, which cools the scalp and constricts the blood vessels around the hair follicles. This process helps limit the amount of chemotherapy drugs that reach the hair follicles, ultimately reducing hair loss.
Cold caps are worn before, during, and after chemotherapy sessions to effectively reduce hair loss. The cooling effect must be maintained throughout the treatment process. Here's a brief overview:
Pre-Treatment: The cold cap is placed on the patient’s head approximately 30 minutes before chemotherapy begins.
During Treatment: The cap remains in place throughout the chemotherapy session, keeping the scalp cool and reducing blood flow to the hair follicles.
Post-Treatment: The cap stays on for about 90 minutes after the chemotherapy session to ensure optimal effectiveness.
Since everyone’s experience with cold capping can vary, and it may not work for everyone, we’re pleased to offer each client a $300.00 credit towards a wig if cold capping isn’t providing the desired results.
This credit is available up until the end of the second round of chemotherapy—if you find that it's not working or you’re not satisfied by that point, we’ll apply your $300.00 credit towards a wig.
